Hi all,

We get a message with sopen Error when we try to print to device in the event viewer as follow:

Env Bse (d:\baan)
Prog bshell file \general\lib\al_1\AL_FPATH.c # 227
Keyword sopen
Username baan type S language 2
Process 0x3d7
Lasterror 5 (Access is denied)
Errno 13 (Permission denied)
bdberrno 0
Message
Error during sopen(d:/baan/tmp/, d:/baan/tmp/)

Do you know what this means?

Strange, it would suggest that the baan user cannot save to the tmp directory. This should not happen (other problems would occur), so either you have just run out of space (try deleting some old files in the tmp directory) or check out authorisations for the user

I remember of reading something like this that has been fixed with the latest portingset/BW/BWprint.
Check this with Baan, I think your error is related to that (local versus server BSE_TMP directory usage).

Victor,

We have also reported in version 144 or 145 this bug. It only seems to happen on Win98 not on NT systems.

I personally use the 143 version and have no problems with it.

Han

Han,

Which version is 143? The file versions I have for BWPrint.exe are either the full porting set version 6.1c.XX or Under Porting Number, is shown as PA.13XX

Try from out the menu browser the 'About Baan'. It will give you a bw version. That's the version I meant.

Han :

It's not there. There isn't even a "About Baan" Menu Option. Are you guys running Baan V?

Another way to get the info is to right click in explorer on the file and goto properties. There you should get all the info you need.

Yes - I did that.

That's when I got 6.1c.05 as my BWPrint Version.

Under PortingNumber, I get PA.1354.

But nowhere do I see anything that is just 3 digits.

Can't remember quite where but there should be a build version there too!

Yes I am on ERP. However BECS will show you the version as well.
