Hello,

What do people do with redundant (users that have left) users in Baan? Do you delete them? My concern is that there may be references to old users throughout Baan.

Hi,

Well , i have seen some people just DISABLE there account using Win NT or Win 2000 account manager, some people just change the password, and some delete fully.

i don't think reference error will come , all the problem would be that User Name cannot be captured based on BaaN Login.

We always deleted the users and so far never had any problems. I guess the table that most references go to is the employee table in which you most likely cannot delete the user.

Thanks for your replies.

We normally delete the Unix account and then mark the accounts in Baan as **DEACTIVATED**. But now we have many accounts marked as such. So to keep things 'tidy' I want to remove the old user records from Baan.

Thanks

We change the password, mark the user as Discontinued in Baan User data and change the start up menu to an empty menu so that even if the user guesses a new password, he/she wont have access to any sessions.
