We are moving to a new server and also consolidating different locational servers on to this one server. The problem is how to copy users and their respective authorizations to this new Baan server. We have 4 servers all located in different city. We are migrating to one consolidated server.

Creating authorizations manually will be a mammoth task. Can we somehow
copy users and more importantly their rights ?

Hi,
I believe you can Import the data from your existing servers to the new severs from the tables ttaad200(User Data), ttaad220(Company Authorisations), ttaad225(Company per User Autorisations), ttaad230(Module Authorisation), ttaad231(Session Authorisations). Convert to runtime DD of the user data.

Yes, you can copy the contents of the tables, but the Convert will not do much, because the Convert-Indicators are missing. Once way to fix this, is to create these indicators yourself.

Another way to do it, might be the export/import session found in tools under Triton migration.

All of this will only help you, if you have not changed certain things like the names of Package Combinatios and VRCs!

session ttams2201m000 will do the create (convert) run time for you and does not need indicators to create the authorization files at the OS level.

We have used that after moving over the seqential files from one server to another for user privs.

BaanV only.

For baanIV to get the indicators, you can also change the company description in ttaad1100m00, do a convert for the users and this also forces a change. Then just change the company description back to what it was.

try using sessions ttcon61export and ttcon61import on Baan IV System
These Sessions are able to export the user data, device data, authorizations and logical tables

Good Luck
