We have Baan5c/Informix/HPUX11

Whenever I am trying to change any field of table whina000 (through session whina0100s000), I am getting a bw message "Error 254 (Commit transaction has faild in the audit server)"

The Audit is ON for the table whina000.

The log.audit has the following log:

I have also done convert-to-runtime in the Tables by Database session.

also, if anybody can give some info on "flush_to_file" error.

I logged in as bsp, executed the session ttaad4111m000 (Tables by Database). Selected the row with table whin000 --> Deseleted "Audit ON" --> Saved the changes--> Converted to run time-->opened a new bshell--> tried to execute session whian0100s000 --> it is now giving me error
"Starting session is not allowed. Audit trail for table whina000 is not switched on in sesion "Tables By Database"..

so i reversed the process to put he audit "ON" on the table.

In the process, i noticed one thing..

After I had made the audit "ON":

in one company i can save the changes, while for the other company it is not allowing. both the companies are attached to the same prod package combination (so i can switch between the companies)...

is this problem company related.

Yes, mmm it is of course a parameter table. Are you running in multi-tiers or all on 1 server?

All Baan tables and applications are on one server.

Check the audit files and parent directories for that particular table. Are the permissions well set?

i have cheked all the files and there owner...for all the files /dir. it is bsp:bsp..

check the audit file permissions on the directory and the subdirectories under it.

$BSE/audit

$BSE/audit has bsp:bsp and drwxrwx--- persmissions

OK company details are as follows:
$BSE/audit/658 has bsp:bsp and drwxrwxrwx permisions
There are two files $BSE/audit/658/awhina directory:
aina000658.inf and aina000658.000


Problem company details are as follows:
$BSE/audit/650 has bsp:bsp and drwxrwxrwx permissions
However there is one file $BSE/audit/650/awhina directory:
aina000650.inf.

Permissions are ok

any help???

checking back on our system I have I think you need to have 777 on the audit.

checking the documents I have -

This document will guide you through the procedure for correcting file and directory permissions in Baan. Briefly stated, the procedure includes:

· Setting permissions on all directories (from $BSE on down) to 777 – drwxrwxrwx
· Setting all owners and groups on directories to: bsp
· Setting permissions on all files in all directories to 660 -- -rw-rw----
· Making all files in $BSE/lib, $BSE/etc, and $BSE/bin executable
· Correcting permissions and ownership of files as needed.

still ....the problem is not yet solved !!!

checking the tools manual for the error codes -

254 EAUDABORT This indicates that a commit transaction has failed in the audit server. See the log.audit file for more information.

did you check the log.audit file ??

it is the same as u can see on the initiation paragraph of this problem.

the problem is solved....but in a very different way.

I deleted the file in the directory $BSE/audit/650/awhina/aina000650.inf and removed the directory awhina.

Than I just tried to change some data in whina000 through the session whina0100s000. and this time it worked !!!

The directory awhina and two files are now automatically created (and hopefully in the future will be updated :)

For some reason that specific audit file must have been corrupted.

I just had the same issue in atdpur and same resolution worked. Thanks also.
