I was just going through the doc. U8152A US that is how to install sp12 using batch installer , on page 31, there r telling to use ttiex1284m000 Import Patch to install the standard sp12 patch ( file name : stnd/batsp12stnd.dmp ), but they have not specified the VRC in which the patches should be applied....

So my doubt is we have to apply this patch is Standrd update VRC right ??? if yes, then in the above scenerio is it assumed that the user package vrc is already set to Update Standatrd vrc , that is why they haven't given any PVRC ??

or is it because that if we specify a pvrc over there , then all the patches will go in one single Package.

just a bit confused.

Hi Learner,

do this as described in the manual.
If you dont check the box 'Write software in other PVRC', the VRC-Entry must be empty. (see the hardcopy in the Installation Manual)
The dump was installed in the VRC, which is defined in the dump. In this case it is B40Ucstnd.

Thanks for the info, infact i saw that even if u specify the PVRC over there , it actually reads the PVRC from the dump.l file.

so which means if u have components of tc package in your data dictionary , even if u specify PVRC td B40U c4 stnd on the form, it will go in tc PVRC only, by reading the dump.l file.
