Hi,

I am trying to install baan IV B2 on NT, Informix 7.2.

When I start baan I am getting error 505(No server specified in tabledef6.1 on ttaad002000 in db_first)

But I can see all the tools tables using dbaccess utility for that server and baandb database. Data is also present in these tables.

Am i missing something?

Hi did you have a chance to check these following ?

1) Databse definitions session. (ttaad4510m000)
2) BSP permissions.

We got the same issue in our installation on DB2.

I refer you to Baan solution 501 on the Baan website.

I also encountered this problem n BaanIvc3 on Informix database.

In addition to this, I upgrade the BW and in BW hostname instead of server name I tried using the IP address.

Permissions is not an issue because it is NT. baan is an Admin user.

Since baan is not connecting ttaad4510m000 cannot be opened.

I tried with IP address but still getting the same problem.

I checked the baan solution 501 but everything seems to be OK.

In the table ttaad410 the value for torg field is 11. ( I used dbaccess utility)

But 11 corresponds to SQL Server 6.5. Since my database is Informix I think it should be 5.

Any suggestions? Should i change this value from backend ?

please check if e.g c:\baan\bin and c:\baan\lib is set-up on to global variable . Control Panel-> Environment-> System variables

sorry, it should be in Control Panel-> System-> Environment-> System Variable-> Path Variable

add the value of following directories e.g c:\baan\bin and c:\baan\lib

then you should restart the server.

I have set the directories for the Path system variable and restarted the server.

But Still I am getting the same error.

I don't have sqlhosts file in d:\informix\etc.
This file will not be there in NT or I am not having it?

We are running in MS SQL not in Informix but I encountered the same problem on the client site who are running in Informix.

all pertaining information regarding Informix should be filled up in System Variables like SQLHOSTS, INFORMIXDIR, etc.

I think these variables are properly set.

For example

INFORMIXSERVER=ol_baan
INFORMIXDIR=d:\informix
INFORMIXSQLHOSTS=\\c-936 |***** (Machine name)



Theere is no file sqlhosts in d:\informix\etc.

Should I create this file manually?

I was told by the support person that this file is not present on his sytem. He is having baan IVC4 on Informix7.3 and NT.
May be this file will not be there on NT.

Any other possible reasons for this problem?

After some good inputs from the baan support person and Julia, I modified the license6.1 file and add Path local variable and set it to relevant Informix, aan paths now when I am running baan I am getting error "You do not have any license to run the bshell".

How do I activate a 30 day license??

Long time back I used a command to do the same but do not recollect now?

Can someone help me?

From the command prompt of your client (msdos)

1. Set the BSE env. variable.
2. %BSE%\bin\bw ottiexpatch

it will say the demo license expired, but the option dialog box in the bottom bar will stay up for a few minutes. When it is done your 30 day license will be active. You have 30 days to license your software.
