Hi All,
What is an audit server in Baan IV? Is it possible to have different server to keep the audit information? If possible then how to do it? I have a setup where everything is handled in a single server.

Regards,
Senthil

Moved from Tools forum. The gurus here may be able to point you in the right direction Senthil.

To be honest I have never seen it running on a different system. However it probably will work via nfs but I am not sure if that will give you a less load on you system.
In the standard configuration the overhead is less.

Hi Senthil,

An old thread for your reference -

Setup Audit on two application servers

If the thread the NPRao refers you to does not have what you need, please post your further questions.

If you are running Baan IV or 5.0a/5.0b (<7.1b tools) you can keep all of the audit services on the application servers.

Boeing runs with remote audit servers as the client access to the app servers is somewhat arbitrary (and they have >140 app servers) and they want to minimize the number of servers they have to look at for audit.

The downside of that is having to config Baan Net and remote users for the combined audit. You have to decide if the value of consolidated audit is worth the additional administrative hassle.
