Hi,
Can someone enlighten me on why I am getting three files instead of one when I do the dump for the whole company. ie
bk140304.680, bk140304.680.1 and bk140304.680.2(the first two files are of the same size but the third is very small.
Any suggestions will be appreciated.
Thanks,
(Baan IV C4, Win 2000, SP 12)

Baan's a 32 bit application, so the maximum filesize it can deal with is 2 gigs.. So.. Your first 2 files are 2 gig, and the 3rd is the rest.

Hi Dave,
When I am restoring the dump, do I have to dump all the three files, or just the first and the third? since the first two are the same size 2 Gb each.
Thanks

By restoring do you mean restoring from tape? or do you mean "create table from sequential dump"?
I guess either way, you need all 3 files... All of your data is spread out across those 3 files..

Abuibra,
Like Dave had explained to you already, the maximum file size per file is 2 gb. Therefor, the fact that the first two files are of the same size does not mean that their content is equal, yet that they are writen, each with complete different data, till they were full...

If I remember from the last time I did this, you should be able to start "Creat Tables from Seq...." with just the first file specified, and it should pick up the rest...
Thanks,

Guys,
By putting just the first file name on the filed "Name of Dump File", how will baan be able to pick up the other three files?
Thanks
