The best would be going thru the Baan Support website and check the available Quick-Guides thru the link they provide in the Knewlege Base, but if you want them faster, thru anonymous ftp, go to ftp.support.baan.com and get the files (.exe mostly, autoextractable word documents) from /documents/tools

Now as extra, once I compiled a list (1,5 years ago, so the document versions may be outdated) of the US guides (.pdf). The list is in Word format and I include it here in zipped format, I think it will help a lot of people out there :)

You can ask Baan to provide you the document numbers that start with U (user guides). The versions are the last letter before the US (language of document), like A, B, C, etc.

Since 2001 a lot has been changed in the Baan support website and support handling, most of what was mentioned by then is no longer valid.

This happens only with Firefox. Try MS IE and it will work (with warnings due to pop-up´s and active-x components)

This documentation is from 1996 and is a rewritten Triton document. There are documentation portals that are available with the cd's or from the download site. Check with your administrator to see if they have or can download the most recent copy of the documentation portal for your version.

Steven,

As you are migrating from Informix to SQL server, you must have the installation CD's. In the CD collectoin there is a documentation portal. In the documentation portal you will find all the installation manuals. If you don't have the CD, then you can download it from Infor - Subscribenet. For individual manuals you can get them from Infor365 documentation page.

hi,

I have order all the BaanIV CD that i need from Infor website.

Some of the pdf file in ftp are out-dated.

we have engage external to do the migration for us.

the migration tasks look not so simple after last weekend round 1 test migrated of data and setup the Baan tasks like customise report, VRC...etc...

We are moving to use BaanIVc4 SP10 on Windows 2003 R2 SP2 with SQL 2005 SP2.

the SQL 2005 SP2 are in the same server as BaanIVc4, is it possible to move the SQL to other server without reinstall the Baan in the future.

which baan IV pack do you migrate from?

the baan IV migration is a huge problem, and it will getting more problem if you're having many customization, and if you're migrating from different environment.

i don't know about database migration, but why don't you just tell them to install with database server separated?it's more safe than install the baan again later.
