Does anybody know what the attached Win2K event error is. I seem to be getting a lot of this particular error.

Is there a definitive list of Win NT/2000 Baan event errors available?

Hi,

Please give more details about this error.
Is it periodical, it's produced in a specific context, it's often, etc. ?
What is your BaaN type of instalation(UNIX, NT) ?
It appears on the server (NT/2000) or workstation ?
What's in the log specified there ?
Is it associated with other error (check the additional errors in the event log).
Is your network working fine (do you have colisions or unreliable links) ?
Does it stop you from working in BaaN ?

PJ,

It may sound obvious, but did you check Microsoft's knowledge base already. Some more background info on the underlying W2K error might help you solved the Baan problem.

Hi PJ,

All that text:

The description for Event ID ( 1000 ) in Source ( Baan ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. The following information is part of the event: Env baan60 (c:\program files\baan60)

Is common on the event viewer when the application sends an event log into the OS and the OS does not get all the information fields. Baan is sending the information but not in a complete event form structure. In this case, just ignore this part and concentrate on the "real message" at the bottom line:

Message 1 : Free error - error log in file "c:\program files\baan60/log/m_help.log"

Have you checked that m_help.log file?
