We are devising our DR and test box creation procedures and are struggling with restoring our Baan system running in host mode (Baan and SQL Server on same machine) onto non similar hardware. Our production hardware is a Compaq ML570 and the test hardware is just a run of the mill 2GHz PC with three disks.

Can anyone post their DR procedure here? Especially the most efficient way of building and refreshing a test server.

What is the problem with the recovery?

Having done a fair few DR on Windows and SQL machines, I found that it all depends on the way the backup is done, sometimes with something missing ( you would be amazed how many people don't backup the whole database!)
