We have implemented weekly and monthly archiving of production orders, salesorders and inventory movements. Runs fine so far...

We also have carried out archiving for sales orders, purchase orders, inventory transactions, production orders and integration transactions (IVc3).

We have used archive inventory transactions,production order,hours history,costing history,hours accounting,integration transactions,fully paid purchase invoices, fully paid sales invoices,finance transactions and the supply chain archive sessions for finance, sales, purchase and packaging.

Due to disk limitations, we have had to archive sales, production, inventory and financial data on a regular basis.
I found the archiving sessions in Baan are very poorly written, as we have had to modify most of them. It would appear that the development teams at Baan didn't communicate or coordinate with each other, as each module has a different approach on how to archive, and what to archive.

I too found that the instructions not universal. It would appear that experienced users probably had to write a project plan and work instructions for themselves.
