We have just recently implemented Baan Service and I've been told that you cannot raise a quotation that can, once accepted, be converted to a Service order.

The only alternative is that you create a Sales quotation then double key to create a Service order.

Has anybody had an issue with this? Is there a work around?

Thanks

If you are using BaanERP Service there is a quite nice solution, Service Order Quotations in BaanIV there are no elegant solutions, one could be to open a Service Order of a differente type ( lets say - Quotation Order ), input some estimated costs, customize the report " Print S.O. estimated costs" to print the sale price of the items, then if you have the clients approval you´ll change the type of the S.O. to the rigth one, that what we do in BaanIvc4.

I hope that could help ....
