How can I generate "Planned Purchase Orders" without generate "Planned Warehous Orders" even if there is a sufficient inventory?

For a Service Order in the session "Maintain Service Order Cost Estimate(ts3170m000), you can generate a Planned Purchase Order for a respective Service Order. Here system will generate a Inventory Planned PO with Service Order reference. You can find out the system Generated Planned PO in "tdinv3120m000".

Thank you very much, but I have not been using "Service Orders" and can not relate your explanation to my case :( .

If you look at the customized item in Maintain Customized Item Data you will see a field on form one at the bottom left side under the heading "Origin" called "Standard Item". Clear this field and the system will always plan Purchase Orders. The planning looks at this field and if it finds a standard item it will check for inventory of that item and plan a transfer. If it finds nothing it will plan a PO.

I have been using BAAN IVc4 version, the session is tppss6200m000 and I want to generate olny "Planned Purchase Orders" even if there is sufficient inventory.

If you don't like to use your existing inventory on planned warehouse orders, you can copy / transfer the planned warehouse order in a planned purchase order. That option is prevent as part of the specific options.
I don't know a way to prevent the creation of planned warehouse orders if inventory is present other than create project specific items that are NOT linked to the standard item.
