SSA Global is going to support MySQL 5.0 Enterprise Edition for Triton 3.1 and BAAN IV customers as per August 2006 and this may be a very interesting alternative. Not just from a database reliability perspective but also from a budgetary perspective because the standard package is only EUR 500 per year and this is independent of the number of database users.

Note sure if you will get many votes on this - just wondering if a couple of options could be added. Something like converting any database to mysql or maybe staying with current DB software. I am not sure how many still run on BISAM. I do know at this point we are staying with Oracle. Just a thought and I am not sure if this would impact what you are looking for.
