Hi,
We are trying to achieve the 3-tier system via NIS (synchronizing passwd database). The problem is we can not assign users to their licence schedule (we do it thru gecos field in passwd.byname). When we have the local /etc/passwd we have no problem.So some system call needed because our script ignores gecos field value and shows no licence available because the department value remains empty.
What are the opportunities to read the NIS entry while logging to BAAN.? (shell, Perl, etc.)?
