Client Windows 95/98
Recetly we installed RedHat Liunx 7.2 and we want to run Bx6.1 on Linux Machine.
Thru Wine We tried to install the Windows client on wine but there was socket error.
Is there any other way to do the same we want to use more Linux desktops.

Hi,
Try to use terminal mode to run bx6.1. You should only define DISPLAY variable, then connect to Baan app server using your account there. I have no problem running baan bx client on linux box.

Hi,
It is no direct dependencies between 17'' monitor and client-server technology. First you should check your your network settings - f.e. ping your baan server f.e. ping 123.10.89.34 - the reply should be xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx is alive or the information about sent and received packages should appear. What about your display settings - add to your redhat profile some lines TERM=your proper supported terminal; export TERM
DISPLAY=your station id:0;export DISPLAY. I use Mandrake so Redhat may have some slight deifferncies but not too much :) i guess

Your DISPLAY variable needs to point at your workstation (Linux PC) where you want to display the BX window.
