Hi,

we are currently using informix 7.31 FD1 on HP-Ux 11.0 , baan IV c3 .

Cause of having some problems with informix archieves and archecker's archieve test results
Our local informix support center offers us ,upgrade to informix 7.31 FD5 .

Is anyone allready using Informix FD5 , or is it compatible with baan.

Although no personal experience I do know of a Baan site that upgraded from FC4 to FD5 and they do not have any problems

We are also looking to upgrade to FD5 and are examining the benefits and the possible non-benefits

we did the upgrade ,
and have no problems .The archecker's test results are ok now

How long did it take you ?

Did you do it yourselves ( did you have previous experience in informix upgrades ) ?

We did the upgrade on lunch time , it is a very short work

I Did it not by myself but it is easy.
Here are the steps we did.

1-first make a level 0 archive.
2-stop baan and informix
3-make a copy of your informix folder.
4-locate in $INFORMIXDIR and mount cdrom (upgrade came with cd )
5-install the new informix (cpio -iBvdcum < /cdrom/IDS/IDS.*)
6-start informix and baan
7-make a level 0 archive
