Dear all,
I am trying to install Oracle 7.3.2 for baan iv c4 demo application. I am installing the same on Win NT 4 sp 6. But Orainst.exe is giving general protection error. Can anybody suggest me standard guidelines as to how to install the same.
Regards,

7.3.2 Is a ver acient version and not one of the best. Try to get a better version like 7.3.4 (also of the previous century but much much better) or Oracle 8.1.7.

I agree with Dikkie, oracle 7. something is very old.
Unfortunately the Baan Installer does not support easily to install directly on Oracle 8i, if I am not mistaken.
Last time I installed Baan onNT, I found it actually the easiest to install first on SQL Server, which is very easy indeed. And then migrate the company 000 to Oracle (even Oracle 92) after upgrading the portingset.
But the overall process is complicated, I agree.

Markus
P.S.: If you have a Intel Pentium IV and try to install Oracle 8i, then you are out of luck again, because the Java VM on that installation CD of Oracle had a bug for P4s.
Enjoy anyway

Baan can be installed on O8 directly. For O9 you have to wait a little. This will be delivered soon.
