While login to baan with root user I am getting following error


error 13546 (cannot use nfs) on select
cannot continue in ottstpstdlib(mess)

Hi,

are you using NFS for the Baan system? If you connect with the local root to a remotely mounted NFS directory then root is just a normal users with only rights for the "other" definition.

or you changed password for "root" on the remote system?

I've seen this with earlier versions of Oracle 8i running in host mode.

Fix: Upgrade to 8.1.7.4

Workaround: Use SQL*Net

Not sure why it would just be root though,
maybe he has a special entry in the tabledef file?

Its an Oracle Error message :

TNS-12546 TNS:permission denied

Cause: User has insufficient privileges to perform the requested operation.

Action: Acquire necessary privileges and try again.
