We need to capture the data in "Goods Receipt Form" of Baan ERP (we have Baan IV b2) through barcode reader. Here we are assuming that barcodes will be provided to us by our vendors on their invoices as per our desire.

To incorporate this feature and add other functionality in 'Goods Receipt Form', we are planning to design and develop this form in Visual Basic.
How can we update the data captured through VB form into the baan database (Informix)?

Your quick response in this regard will be highly appreciated.

Hai,
Try BaaN Connection Kit. Using BOI Builder , build a BOI for MRN session then call the create method from your VB application whichinturn will update BaaN. This is the best way if u really wish to do it using Business Objects.

Baan Connect Kit can be used however the question is how long this will be supported by Baan. Better alternative would be using Baan OpenWorld Adapter, which does about the same as the Baan Connect Kit and can be seen as the replacement for the Baan Connect Kit.

Baan Connection Kit is free of cost but on the other hand OW is pretty costly. If u are ready to insvest more on OW go ahead.
