Hi,

We are planning to move our BaaNIVc2 to BaaNIVc4 on W2k and SQL 2000.

And I want to know if baan have problems, or is not compatible.

for example:
security, administration, installation, configuration

Thanks

Hello,

There are no majors differences between c2 and c4. You need to migrate the data (change VRC for company) and this reorganize your tables.

There are some new parameters in finance, common and transport.

In tools the biggest difference is the presence of PMC to install the fix pack.

If you have do customizations in Baan you need to redo it: I think that it is the most important job; you need to do it before migrating your data .

And as usual test and retest before migrating to c4.

Good luck:)

Hello,

I worked long time ago with baanIV c4 and windows NT on informix. I'm more Unix oriented.

Sorry,

We have a number of c2/c4 accounts running with Win2000 and SQL 2000. Not a problem -- just make sure that you include a porting set upgrade as part of your plans. 6.1c.06 or above is recommended (no problem with the latest version that I am aware of).
