i have a doubt, i take full backup using fbackup command. whenever i take it from command prompt it takes 8 hours. but when i make a job using crontab it takes only around 4 hours. i m confused why is it so? can u help me out?

Did you compare log and index files afterwards? The safest to do is to make a 'graph'file with all the options and then run a comparison again. Also remember that by default 'cron' has little or none environment set.
