hi,
is baan 4c is compatible with oracle 9i ?,
what advantages company willget if implenting with 9i?
which service pack will be suitable for this?

Supposedly it is compatible. Advantages would be gained on the database side in performance and functionality. SP9 or higher is recommended. However, I wouldn't personally do this until the bugs have been worked out between Baan and 9i (unless you absolutely have to have 9i).

Use this link Baan Support (http://secure2.support.baan.com/asp/default.asp) but you will need a login and password which can only be provided by Baan Support if you have a valid support contract with them.

Just check http://pid.baan.com

9.0.1.3 is now listed as supported version for the current porting sets.

Please note that lower patch levels are not supported due to bugs in these versions.

I would stikll stick with 8.1.7 until all the bugs are worked out with 9i. I think about the optimizer changes and the query problems when people first went to 8.1.5. Or, about the Vertex incompatibilities between the 8.0 and 8.1 libraries that impacted porting set use with that program.

You need to look at all programs that may use Oracle and not just Baan. But, I know that I want to try out 9i in our lab ASAP...
