We're about to perform an upgrade of Oracle from 805 to 806.

With regards to the tabledef6.1 file should the last thing we do before taking Baan down to perfom the upgrade be to change the database definition in ttaad4110m000 or can we just change the tabledef6.1 file at the OS level?

Thanks

PJ,

Do the change in Maintain Database Definitions first, then CTRL-D so that the tabledef6.1 gets updated automatically. Then shutdown Baan and do the upgrade.

Pat,

Thanks for the quick response!!

We're be doing the upgrade in the morning. This is the first time we've done such an upgrade so I'm hoping it runs relatively smoothly.

Is there anything else we should look out for?

Cheers

PJ

PJ,

As asual make sure you have a full backup of everything and anything. But to jump from Oracle 8.0.5 to 8.0.6 I would not expect any major hassle. Your init.ora parameter file might do with a quick check for new/obsoleted parameters between the two Oracle versions.

Good luck and have a nice weekend!
