Hello,
We have installed Baan IV c4, on Windows 2000 server and Oracle 8.0.5.
Everything was ok, but we are now having problems with users. If the user are not members of Administrator group, they can not logon into baan.
Our server is a PDC, could this be the reason?
Regards.

Try to assign 'Log on localy' and 'Access this computer from network' security permissions.

not to this, but
as i know, it is advised not to use
ora 8.0.5 together with baan on win platform
you should take 8.0.6 as minimum

Logon locally is normally enabled on Windows 2000 Servers.
But when a Windows 2000 Server becomes a DC (Domain Controller) an extra Policy is applied. Within this Policy normal users cannot logon locally anymore, so they cannot start a proces under with their user-account.
Take a look at Microsoft Knowledge Base Article - Q234237 (http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=KB;EN-US;Q234237&) for futher info.

Hi,
Baan server should be a standalone and should not be either a PDC or BDC. This is because a W2K PDC does take a lot of resources when it does synchronise.

Make sure you have Win2000 SP2 installed as this resolves many issues related to the domain authentication. It is a requirement for running Baan either with local authentication or using a PDC.
