I need to migrate to Informix 7.31 to a new version, Informix 11 or Informix 11,50.

Anybody have any comments or suggestions about the migration?
Or the performance?

We have been on level2 drivers for 3 or 4 years and are very happy.

I just upgraded from 9.40 to 10.00 with IVc4. This was easy and painless. Unfortunately our backup software (HP Data Protector) only support v10.00 on HP PA-RISC. We are moving to HP Itanium and will be able to upgrade further to 11.10.

I do not believe 11.50 is supported by any version of Baan (IV, LN). 11.10 is the current highest version. 11.50 should be supported soon.

In our setup, we use the Informix version in the installation directory.
example: /informix/9.40.fc9

Install the new Informix version /informix/11.10.fc3

Install new csdk in $BSE/informix/11.10.fc3

Shut down old version. Start new version. In Baan database setup, change $INFORMIXDIR to new Informix installation.

Pretty high level overview, but gets you started. If you have more specific questions, let me know.
