Hi

Though we could ping baan server & connect thru telnet, but when we use to connect thru baan client it throws error:
rexecd: 0826-604 The Login is not correct
rexec failed host 'server ip' post 512, user name 'login' command /app/baan4c4/bse/bin/ipc_boot6.1
bw failed to connect to 'server ip' bshell

any idea how to get over this

Perhaps the firewall blocks port 512?

Port 512 is not blocked by any firewall

Maybe it depends on the parameter of the rexec daemon.
When rexec runs without the parameter -c, only clients can connect to the Baan-system when they have an entry in the /etc/hosts.
Please check your entry in the inetd.conf file an start your rexec with the parameter -c.
I think this solve your problem.

I am having the issue with my Baan client via VPN connection.
Would be able to explain more in detail with some specific how-to solve the issue?

I am using Windows XP fyi.
Sucessfully connected to VPN and pinged Baan server

Please have a look into your /etc/inetd.conf of your AIX system
Do you start rexec with the option "-c"?

exec stream tcp6 nowait root /usr/sbin/rexecd rexecd -c
