hi

when i open SQL server Enterprise Manager.
error display unable to open the selected file.

Can anybody help me ? I am new on SQL server,
so please send me detailed procedure.

Shailesh,
First check if the SQL Service is on or not. You could go to Administrative Tools>Services>MSSQLSERVER is the name of the service. Check if its started or not. Another way is to check the SQLSErver icon on the taskbar...

Has this happened all of a sudden? If so could you detail out what all changes has been done to that server in the days leading to this problem?

Are you able to open Query Analyzer?

Along with the above, please detail out What service pack have you installed on NT and SQL ..
