May i know what is the best way to backup LN and database DB2. Right now its running on AIX 5.3 in IBM P 52 server with internal tape drive DAT 72 to be exact.

Can i just backup the LN folder and the database folder and able to restore without much hassle? Is there any software from AIX that is able to backup like Microsoft Backup?

Backing up LN folders is not a bad idea. However, backing up the db file may not necessarily give you a hassle free restore. You should probably back up the DB2 Database Backup file and not the Database file by itself. If there is a window(timeframe) where in you have users offline, then you could even take a sequential dump..
