We are currently in the planning stages of upgrading our Baan system from IVc3 to IVc4 and migrating our DB from Oracle to SQL 2005. We have several SQL reports/Crystal Reports and other "systems" that currently access our Baan data through ODBC. I'm wondering if there are any differences in the naming conventions of the Baan table between Oracle and SQL DB. For instance, Oracle field names are T$DSCA, how does SQL portray the fieldnames?
Also - we were wondering about the size of the database. Currently our Oracle database is 400GB, total with log files and all. Will migrating to SQL cause changes in the size - will it be smaller, larger - same?
Any info would be great! Thanks
