Hy,

that's a very, very easy question for you. I'm improving a slow perfomance on my system ... 8i with W2K .. ( in 2 months I would have my new server with my new oracle, ...) but by the moment in looking some parameters in way of making better my performance. I'm was looking disks administrator in OS, and disk from data and indexes ara fully RED, thats is, very defragmented. Do you recomindme to execute a defragmentation by W2K? Is this dangerous??!

Thank!

In theory NTFS should not require additional defragmenting. However, check the C: drive on your personal XP box that contains a few DVD copies or other large files and you will find an unhealthy level of fragmentation.

Now raise your hand if you actually check your server for disk fragmentation :D

Recommendations....ummm...with two weeks to go, sit back and relax.
