Hi All,

We have the Baan Server at one location and I want my users in other office (about 2 kms away from this office) to access the Baan Server. I will be using RF Connectivity to connect the 2 offices and initially 2 users need Baan access from Remote office.
Can I use extended LAN feature to access the Baan Server from remote office ? Or I need to go for a Citrix Server at my present location and the remote office will have to use Citrix clients to connect ? If I go for Citrix Solution , it will be an additional cost for me.

Any ideas , how to acheive this connectivity 1) without Citrix & 2) with Citrix ?
Please give me detailed solutions as I want to go for this immediately.

Thanks & Regards

Hi Girish,

Citrix and extended LAN, both will cost you.

Each option has its own advantage and disadvantage.

The best way is to decide your budget.

List the Pros and Cons of Both. Present it to the mangement and then decide one of the two.

It can be done either thru WTS server or thru Citrix server. u need static ip for that . WTS can be configured with win 2000 server easily.

Hi Girish

First you should determine the number of PCs connected in your remote offices. Citrix can be useful in case of limited pc but extended LAN will be useful if you have large number of PCs and it also gives a high bandwidth solution.
