We have installed Baan IV on New server on AIX. Eberything is working fine except printing. We have to direct printer queues (q4 & qq) on AIX and are linked to 2 direct network printers in device menegement. Now when we check status at AIX thru lpstat it shows READY for both printers. But if we give print out on any one printer (device - direct printer), it doesn't print. now if we check on AIX thru lpstat it shows DOWNqueque as Status of the printer.

Can anybody help me in this regard. very critical. however, if we try to use windows printer and select preview option, it shows output. but in case of direct printer it is creating problem.

1) is an ll | lp -d<queue> working ?
2) is this printer defined as "network based" or "remote" on AIX/Unix ?
3) if remote, has somebody pressed the "cancel" button on the printer, this may cause the "rcancel" command has been accepted by the Queue.

Otherwise, give more information.

1. It is a network based printer at AIX.
2. with help of lq -d print out from AIX are working but not working thru Baan. If i give printout. It shows "waiting" status on Baan Device Queue Session and "DOQN QUEUE" at AIX level.
