-by the way the bw configuration is set correctly the BShell Environment is set correctly.

-and this user"the main user "can not log from another machine it gives this error
"you have no more liecence to run this bshell"
-the problem is on the server

Please try to give more detail, like event viewer messages from the server.

It almost sounds like windows permissions for that user. I believe that
the baan user needs to be a local user (not a domain user) and be a local administrator.

Also: "192.168.0.**'bshell" looks a little strange. what do you have for the host field in the bw config?

event viewer messages from the server give :

Env BaaNERP_IBC (e:\baan)
Prog BW file \general\lib\nw_1\IPC_SOCK.C # 466
Keyword ipc
Username baan type S language 2
Process 0x770
ProcessSet baan@HIDO:1904
Lasterror 0
Errno 0
bdberrno 0
Message 1 : rexec failed host '192.168.0.99' port 512, username 'baan' command 'E:\Baan/bin/ipc_boot6.2'

the host field in the bw config have the ip of the server and it is correct
192,168.0.88

i had to tell you that this error appers on the server and the baan user is set up correctly

Check the path is entered correctly in your My computer properties.

i.e. e:\baan;e:\baan\bin

Hi there,

don't know whether this will be of help, but on unix systems I usually get exactly this error, when the client computer trying to connect via GUI is not listed in /etc/hosts.
Does the user that wants to connect exist on the server? Perhaps adding the IP and name of the client in {WINDIR}/system32/hosts will help?

Is the logic service up? do you have just rexec started?

Norwim - you can start rexecd with the "-s" option to avoid that hostfile
thing.

Hi Dave,
For the logis service is up (I've checked it in baan mmc).
But for "rexecd with the "-s" " Can you assist me how to do that.

Hi.. Norbert,

the user that wants to connect exist on the server is baan (superuser). I can not connect even in the server.
What file I should attached the user in {WINDIR}/system32/hosts ..

You can't do the "-s" thing - that was just for Norbert (Unix boxes)

But check your Logic Service's configuration, make sure you don't have
multiple protocol's enabled.

I am just throwing it out :) . I find this 'e:\Baan/bin/ipc_boot6.2' in the BW message strange due to mixture of backward and forward slashes.

hi Abdullah,

As I remmember the default port for the Baan "Rexec" service is 512. You login on the server with the Administrator and try to cahnge the port number.

Hi Mr.,

Correct I agree that the port is default. One thing that I do not understand how comes it happend ??.
I can not change the port in Ms. MMC even I used the Admin. User, it's always asking the account that I never know.

Could be a bug, or you could have messed something up while you were trying to get it to work and didn't notice..

let's hope it isn't a virus.. Baan has enough problems, if people start writing Baan specific viruses we're all doomed.

well.. i assume you set it back to 512.. did it stay this time?

If not, then time to install a new porting set.

The actual install is just click->click->click ...

But you really need to know stuff about your system before you do the
install.. best to talk to support and have them assist you!

Don't forget to take backup of $BSE ..

Advice, get the manual from BaaN support before installing porting set.
