on solaris 5.7. i waited one minute after killing,
but no chance.

sometimes you have to wait for up to 5 minutes for the portmapper to
clean it up..

But, If you're in a network license setup, you might need to bring down all licenses in the group..

on tru64 i have to wait only one minute,
maybe its diff. on solaris,
i will try it.

I'd say 90% of the time i've seen it clear in a minute.. but that last
10% takes up to 5..

In the latest portingset there is an licmon option that cleans up old invalid licenses. By using it you probably don't have to reset it that often anymore.
