We are looking for copying a company from UniX/Oracle to windows2000/SQL 2000 Server?

Can you help us with the phases we have to follow? We have no idea

Thanks

Hej,

you just wanna extract the data? Are both companies in the same P-VRC? Otherwise you could get problems with the DataDictionary.

If both companies are in the same P-VRC it should be possible to export the company via ttaad4226m000 in the Unix system and import it with ttaad4227m000 in the SQL System.

Hi, Marcel,

As you had thougth, our problem is big, the companies are in different P-VRC, so we have problems with the DataDictionary. How can we solve that?

Thanks for your fast answer!

Hallo,

PackageComination umzusetzen.

Change Package Combination by Company (ttaad1101m000).

Ansonsten habe ich im Moment keine Idee.

Hi Forest,

because Baan stores data in Oracel different then in SQL server, you must use Baan Tools (create sequential dump) to do this job.

As malutz said, you first load the company on your destination in the same PKG Combination as on the source, then you do "Change Package Comb by company".

If you do not have the same PKG on the destination server, then you do the following trick:

Derive from your destination PKG on your destination server a dummy package combination. Copy the DD files from unix to windows. Load your data into dummy and then perform "Change PKG by company". After this you can delete your dummy PKG again.

This is the standard procedure done in this kind of scenarios.

Obviously the consequence of moving to a different PKG in rregards to data loss is a different story and depends on your concrete changes.

Enjoy
