I am installing Baan IV on VMWare and i did the following:

1.Installed Windows 2000 Advanced Server with SP4
2.Installed MS SQL7
3.Start Installing baan...
after entring Baan Group name and password and SQL Server 'sa' as default..
Group
Password [baandb]
sa [ ] , left blank as defaul...

THEN Error Message:
[B]Server
(X) Fatal error during connect...
Existing Setup with error.
[OK]

Any help to solve this issue.. :confused:

I would check if MSQL is correctly installed and is really starting automatically (try the famous "select @@version" from within isql).

I installed baan in VMware until SP11 on SQL Server2000 and it is working fine. Did not have that problem.

The other thing you can check is if the network setup in VMWare. I am using "private network between host and guest" - VMNET1 (?).
