Hi to all,
I would like to connect to a baan server from a linux box. Someone told me that there is a bx client ( similar to bw but for X-window) but I'm not able to find it. Does this program exist and where can I download it ?
Thank you for your help!

There is no client program as such. you just connect to Baan Server with telnet, set the DISPLAY environment variable:

#DISPLAY=your.ip.adress:0
#export DISPLAY

and then call bx6.1 instead of ba6.1

Hi,
thank you Vahdani for your replay! Your solution is ideal if the server is a Unix (Linux) machine. But if the server is a NT machine? What I would like to have is the possibility to use my notebook (with Linux installed) for work with BaaN (installed on a Windows PC).
Any idea?

thank you again!

There is no miracle there, BW within wine seems not to work properly (search the admin threads for information): have a 2nd partition with Windows or a virtual machine (vmware, bochs, ...) with one installed to be able to have a local BW.
Also, Baan will deliver a portingset for linux (RH and Suse) soon, just wait for them for a native bx (if still delivered).
