Hello,

We have recently installed BaaN IV C4 with sp13, on Win NT 4.0, with porting set 6.1c.07, database is Oracle 9i ( did migration from Oracle 8i)

The BaaN Server is still not licenced, we plan to change the server name from baanserver to baansrv

All the BaaN clients installed on the user pc are having configuration file configured with ip address rather than the server name.

So my doubt is will this sort of change in name modify some of the baan or oracle related file which might create problem ???

Hi Learner,

you will have to change the file $BSE\lib\licence6.1 and please check your $ORACLE_HOME\network\admin\tnsnames.ora. In case you use the hostname here, you have to change that too.

Hello,

Ok, i will check both the info , but apart from this acc. to u there is no other file.

Infact we haven't done the licencing till now, we r running demo version only.

Hi Learner,

yes, thats true. Before the licencing of the server it is no problem to change the hostname.
