We have recently installed BaaN IV c4 on Win NT 4.0 with Oracle 8.1.7 ( 8i) as database, we have 3 hard drives on RAID, ( sorry don't know the RAID Level ).............

Size of hard disk are as follows

C DRIVE

Capacity : 3.90 GB
Used Space : 2.15 GB
Free Space : 1.75 GB

PAGING SIZE FOR C DRIVE
Initial Size : 1664
Max. Size : 1714

E DRIVE

Capacity : 17 GB
Used Space : 13 GB
Free Space : 4.02 GB

PAGING SIZE FOR C DRIVE
Initial Size :
Max. Size :

G DRIVE

Capacity : 64.6 GB
Used Space : 5.64 GB
Free Space : 58.8 GB

PAGING SIZE FOR C DRIVE
Initial Size :
Max. Size :

Now if u see then u will find that there is no paging size specified for E and G Drive. What shpuld be the paging size i should keep, I have installed BaaN and Oracle in G Drive which has the maximum capacity of 64 GB.

Also one more thing i have 1.7 GB of RAM, how do one calculate the paging size to be kept. With my current installation what paging size i should keep ???

Waiting fot your reply.

Hi Learner,

You generally want 2x the amount of ram in swap space..

That's for unix, but I'm sure its a good estimate for windows as well.
