We are using Baan 4c4 on digital unix. The problem is most of the time the users logged in into the system without any work, which creates licence limit problem.

I want to kill the Baan client processes which are idle for more than any specific period i.e. 5/10 minutes. with a message to the client operating on W2K.

Any tips on this issue will be of great help.

Thanks with regs

Dear A.R. Acharya,

This matter had been discussed many times before. Please refer to:

Use portingset 6.1c.07 and issue the command licmon -c via the crontab on regular basis.
"-c : cleanup orphaned local licences"

I just checked and 7.1d has the same option.

It's about time they came out with that. I really need to start reading my documentation before doing these upgrades.

Thanks for filling me in, Luuk.

is this really works???

Hi.

We have PS 6.1c.06.07 and this option is unavailable. My licmon command is licmon6.1. I don't know the differences between these command (if should be?).
Orphant licences are huge problem for us. It seems that problem concern only users without session timout.

update your portingset and test it.
