We now have a spare tape drive on the Baan5c NT server
Does anyone know if its possible to perform continuous log bakups with SQL7?

I know its possible with Informix. I've looked into SQL Enterprise managed and there seems no obvious way to do it.

You should go to the database properties and unselect the truncate log on checkpoint option. From now you can create a job to backup your transaction log to anyplace.

Continuous log backup and Transaction log backup -

would it mean the same ?

I think the first one refers to online backup; and the later refers to a secured and full back up of database.

If anyone can clarify pls.

Bcos I am still wanting a solution for ONLINE BACKUP in SQL7 enterprise BaaN environment. Now we release the database server 7Hrs only for the purpose of backup.
