has somebody done an upgrade from win NT 4.0/SQL Server 6.5 to Win 2000 / SQL 2000, not reinstalling baan (I don“t have the installation master CD ), just upgrading O.S and RDBMS.???

I think you would have to first upgrade to SQL7, and upgrade to SQL2000 from that point..

afaik the baandrivers do not support SQL2000 "out of the box" that's why you have to use the SQL7 setup..

You will also have to use the most current portingset.

(do not hang me up on all this.. :-) )

Hi,

You can do migrate from SQL 6.5 to SQL 2000.

First migrate SQL 6.5 to SQL 7 and SQL 7 to SQL 2000 on old loaded o/s NT 4.0.

After successful migration you can upgrade Win-NT 4 to WIN - 2K.

You can do a native sql2000 installation.
Immediately after launching setup, (so before any question) go to C:\winnt\temp\xxx and look for msql7 driver file. Replace this file with a more recent driver ( for example msql7_drv.dll from 6.1c07) and setup will recognize sql2000 database as a sql7 database.
