Hi,
I am confused about the primary group for baan users.
In our system primary group of all baan users is bsp .
I read from 'Oracle Installation Guide for BAAN IV' that bsp group is only for administrative privileges.

The document says:
bsp:
The bsp group includes the users who are given system administration
privileges for the BAAN database. The group bsp must be given the UNIX group id 125.

baan:
The baan group includes all the users who are given user access to the BAAN database.

We are currently using Informix 7.31 but does the primary group change for informix and oracle?
Or do I have to change baan users primary group to baan

The group bsp is the UNIX group. As all files have a group name it is meaningfull to give all files a group permision that relates to Baan.

The group baan is the owner of the tables inside Oracle. Like you also have in Informix.

Hope this helps,
Dick
