We want to block same userid logging in to Baan from multiple PCs. While at the same time, he should be allowed to start multiple sessions from the same PC.
Our environment is AIX 4.3. Has anyone done a similar thing?
Thank you in advance for suggestions.

Hi Rajesh,
we did similar things for several clients.
The general mechanism works as follows:
a) in $BSE/lib/ipc_info you chnage the sbhell entry to point to some self writte script, lets call it "my_bshell"
b) at the end of "my_bshell" you call the actual bshell and pass all parameters, ie.
exec $BSE/bin/bshell6.1 $*
c) At the beginning of the script you can do all sort of testing for double logins, blocking of the whole baan and so on.
In you case, you have to check for the IP adressses of the calling user. How this is done, depends on your OS. A good tool for doing such things is "lsof", but AIX might offer you other ways.
Happy to see, Baan is used in Egypt.

Markus,
Thanks for the prompt and valuable suggestions.
There are still a few (3 or 4) companies who are still using BaaN in Egypt.
We are the largest installation of BaaN in Egypt with 115 users.
Thanks
