e are on Informix 7.31ud5 and AIX 5.2 . Since, we are using 32bit informix, we are told that we can't have more than 2GB shared memory for informix instance. Is this true ? Whenever the user logs in some of the shared memory is allocated to informix session. My question is, can we have more shared memory segments may be 2 each with 2GB size in informix 32bit version ??

No, this can't. Internally Informix want to see it as one address space so 2Gb is really the limit on a 32 bit version.
