Hi,

We had a hard disk crash (root hard Disk)on our Database Server (Informix IDS 7.31 mounted on a HP9000 Class D machine). We were able to boot with the alternative disk (mirrored Disk) and we are up and running now. Now the question I have is, If we regenerate a disk to replace the faulty harddisk wether we need to revalidate BaaN or the informix database? Any other issues/problems we are likely to face while regenerating the root Disk? Any input or feedback on the above is most welcome.

Thanks in advance.

R. Aamir

I don't think so, Baan uses the inode of the branfile and both the normal+mirror have the same inodes for the same files.
Re-mirroring should be straightforward, just make sure that you make the disk bootable again.

If you are using the classic HP-UX Mirrordisk for LVM mirroring then you do NOT need to rebrand/relicense your system.
