Hi,

Does anybody know if AIX 5.1 and Oracle 8.1.74 are compatible with BaaN IVc3 ?
We'd like to make an upgrade to our servers.

Thank you.

In the system requirements for Porting set 6.1c.07.06 for AIX is mentioned Oracle 9.2. Does anybody know if it is the min version you can use? I have now Oracle 8.1.7.0 and would like to know if can keep it...

Oracle 8i is no longer supported by Oracle so it is no longer supported
by SSA.

Still not clear to me, Dave. I want to stay supported. We will install the obligatory upgrade of the porting set. However, upgrading Oracle is not within our budget.

My plan was to upgrade AIX from 4.3 to 5.2/5.3 and install Porting set 6.1c.07.06. Is it possible technically to run it on Oracle 8i?

Easy: It is technically possible, but not supported. So if you run into trouble, you can neither ask Baan nor Oracle to fix the problem. But if it worked yesterday, so it will most likely also work tomorrow.

So that sort of asks why you are upgrading? what is your current version of Oracle? If it's 7 and there are no Baan upgrades that you NEED.. then stick with it and save your $$ until you can move up to supported versions...

(I'd stick with Oracle 7 until they stopped making parts for my server =) )

We've been told by our local provider no more support until we move to Porting set 6.1c.07.06.
