We are trying to implement Veritas NetBackup for Online Hot backup of Baan Data.

We are on
BaaN IV c3
Oracle 8.0.4
Sun Solaris 2.6

Veritas NetBackup, recompiles the Oracle executable and links its own library libobk.so.1 instead of standard libobk.so of oracle. After this change BaaN gives error -1 and is unable to connect to database.

Has anybody done this before?, any recommendations, we have exhausted all other avenues (Oracle, Veritas, BGS, Sun Support !)

We use HP Omniback-II to integrate with RMAN. A similar procedure has to be followed I guess for Veritas NetBackup. Let me take a wild guess: did you check the permissions on your new 'oracle' executable? (should 6744). Note the sticky bit!
